When You Are Overwhelmed - Do You Eat Too Much Sugar?

In today's fast paced world, do you often feel overwhelmed? Are you beginning to feel not worthy because you can't keep up? Do you then eat too much sugar to feel better? To get that ahhhhh feeling of satisfaction, even though it is temporary?

You know that it will eventually. You know that if you eat too much sugar it will create a weight and health problem. But you can't seem to stop yourself either. It becomes a vicious circle.

So if you simply go with the flow and keep doing what you are doing, you will just keep feeding the problem until it becomes a health problem for you. You may wind up at the doctor's office, or worse the hospital. Who needs adult onset diabetes or heart problems? Not me! And not you either.

How do you stop eating too much sugar? With some patience and good tools you can get off that merry go round.

Here are 3 simple self improvement ideas that get you started today:

1. This is the most important one that you have to remember. Whatever emotion you feel is a direct consequence of your thoughts. You can change that. You do not need to eat sugar to do it either. Now here's an example: if you feel deluged, instantly think of something else. If you always feel super happy when you see your baby's smiling face, think of your baby's smiling face when you feel overwhelmed. That will directly change your emotion. You can also take 3 deep breathes at the same time. This will help to "ground" you back to leveling your emotions so you can deal with whatever it is upsetting you.

2. I have never seen anyone having food shoved down their mouth by someone else. Never! We all need to start accepting responsibility for our own food intake. Whatever happened in your life that you are having issues with is the reason you gave yourself for you to eat too much sugar. Do not go there. It did not solve the problem. It only added to it.

So do not blame anybody else. Not even the worst Mother in Law or Boss in the world. You will never be able to change her, you can only change how YOU react to her. Once you admit this fact, you realize you know your life is in your own hands and you have the power to change it.

It is a choice. And the choice is yours. Finding the right help to get past it with better solutions is your answer. You can have a brighter future, starting today, by implementing the first solution.

3. You can also start educating yourself. Knowing how to change something makes it easier to make that change. Others have been there before you. Start reading books, blogs, or perhaps audio tapes. Education in this area definitely helps.
